Introduction

Welcome back to my travel blog! I am so excited to share my latest adventure with you. As many of you know, I used to spend all my free time in the city, but recently I decided to get away and explore the heart of Santander. In this special edition, I want to show off the 'Golden Route' of my region. I set off on a journey to discover four magical towns: Vélez, Curití, Barichara, and Zapatoca. Before this trip, I used to think I knew everything about my country, but I found out that Santander has secrets that will blow your mind. Are you ready to check out these amazing places with me? Let’s dive in!

Curití - Weavers and water

I traveled to Curití. I used to be very bad at manual arts, but I checked out a fique workshop and learned how to weave. After that, I looked for "Pescaderito" to cool down. I walked for twenty minutes and arrived at the natural wells. The water was cold, but I dived in anyway! It is a place you should not miss.

The sweet start in Vélez

I set off from the south of Santander, and my first stop was Vélez. Furthermore, I used to think that bocadillo was just a simple snack, but I found out that its production is a beautiful tradition. Not only that, but I visited the "Iglesia Atravesada" and took many photos. You must try out the fresh guava paste there; it is incredible!

Barichara - The stone dream

My third destination was Barichara. I used to live in a noisy city, so I really enjoyed the silence of this town. I walked along the stone streets and checked out the local cathedrals. I went on a hike through the "Camino Real" to Guane. I met local artisans and bought some souvenirs. You could spend a whole week here and never get bored!

Zapatoca - The silk climate

Finally, I arrived in Zapatoca. I used to prefer the beach, but now I love this "silk climate." I went up to the "Mirador de los Guanes" and looked out at the majestic canyon. The view was breathtaking! I stayed there until the sun went down. To wrap up my blog: Santander is a paradise. You should pack your bags and explore it soon!
